AHHHHHHHH!!!

I’ve been waiting to get the chance to share with you all my results from this year’s Shoot & Share Contest!

After a few years of watching many of my friends enter the contest, I decided kind of last minute that 2019 was going to be the year that I entered my own images in to see how they would do. This contest happens to the largest photography competition out there!! For those of you that don’t know what the contest is, here’s a little about how it works:

The Shoot and Share Photo contest isn’t your typical photo contest. It’s a contest for Photographers by Photographers and is held in efforts to bring the entire worldwide photo community together. There were 25 different categories and each photographer was allowed to enter 50 photos. What makes this contest a little different than others is that it’s completely focused on the photos. When voting, you are presented with four random photos from one of the 25 categories and you chose your favorite out of the four. It’s completely anonymous, so you vote for the photo on merit rather than who took it. No popularity contest here, it’s all about the talent.

The contest went live in February, and I am not going to sit and tell you all how many hours I spent voting! Let’s just say…it was a lot. There was so much inspiration and talent out there, it was pretty addicting! I may have even dragged my family into it with me as well.

This year was their biggest year yet!

THIS YEAR OVER 580,000 PHOTOS WERE SUBMITTED FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, AND OVER 90 MILLION VOTES WERE CAST!!!!

So, to see these number and and also seeing the sheer talent within this contest I am still blown away by how great my images did. Like I still need pinched when looking at my results. I went way further that I could have even imagined when I entered my images. I didn’t expect a lot going into this year’s competition since it was my first year, so I was SO, VERY shocked and beyond humbled by the results.
